Later a trip to Ireland to play in Galway has convinced us that Murcia has to host an international tournament of maxibasket, because there are many players at this age and because Murcia loves basketball without age limit.
And Veteranas San Jueves is a great team of basket player friends. We begun to play basket when we were children in some of the most important teams in Murcia. But it was just ten years ago, when we met by chance and decided to play again all together.
This time, Thursday seemed to be the best day to play basket, and that´s the way we became San Jueves Team.
Since then, we enjoy every week playing basket and having fun. Last year, we first played in Santander Master Basketball and it was an incredible experience, where we met a lot of great people and discovered a new way to enjoy this game.
After our first Masters Murcia Basketball Tournament, after visiting and playing basketball in Venice, Malta or Dublin, we repeated last year with our 2nd tournament, the MAMBA18, with many more participating women’s teams, a significant increase in teams in general and nationalities In general, teams from 12 countries, players of 30 nationalities, enjoying a Region of Murcia prepared to receive players from all over Europe and the World.
This 3rd edition, the MAMBA 3.19, we again overcome participation, even being almost at the limit of possibilities, it is not easy to organize a tournament of this nature with so many teams and so many games in just one weekend, but MAMBA COSTA CALIDA REGION DE MURCIA international tournament is coming with renewed forces and new perspectives, this summer of 2019 we have played the FIMBA Maxibasket World Championship in the town of Espoo in Finland, next to Helsinki, a spectacular experience that encourages us to go further, because Maxibasket is an unstoppable worldwide movement and in the Region of Murcia we have the right place to make it grow and be the perfect hosts
